If I were in a war like that........weed might be a way to go......are you going to tell me you would want to be sober knowing at any moment you are going to die? Hell might even be a reason some guys died there..BUT....I would like to know where you are from Devil666..something tells me that guys from your country were doing the same thing..or something close to.

I didn't see nothing really bad about it....we all know that not everyone over there was getting high. If I got mad at every time someone has something to say about the USA, life would fucking suck! Besides thats a war we should have never been in in my mind. Or should have handled alot different..but hopefully we learned from it.

i had no problem with that... true as storm stated.. not all were getting high over there.. many good people died there for a cause that still escapes me today... i have friends and family who served over there and they said that the whole thing was bungled from the begining.... apparently we should have never been there in the first place.... i myself have no foundation on which to form my opinion since i was never there.... so... i'll stay out of that area.....

The american governement obviously didn't learn squat from the whole vietnam disaster. They are proceeding with the same cowboy attitude in Iraq today, Iran tomorrow and who knows where else. Whether they're doing it for human rights as they claim, or for oil as is entirely possible, it is fundamentally wrong to be using a military as they are.

Well actually they're using the military for exactly what its for...for fighting.
The whole thing is just so complex and has many reasons to it. Oil, humanitarian reasons, getting a foot in the whole middle east region, personal reasons i.e. finishing off the job that wasn't completed in the first war...combatting terrorism (even though it's doing the complete opposite) and so on and so on... Then you've also got the fact that a lot of money is spent on all this military and the research that goes into it and all of this stuff needs to be "tested" every now and then otherwise there wouldn't be any point in researching and spending the money in the first place. |

true... true.. when you have a military industrial complex such as we... you do need to field test your weapons... but there should be a real and genuine reason for going to war with another... directives must be exact and non-waivering.... quick and decisive action... war is going to be around till the end of time.. there's no stopping it.... but.. the elected ( lol... ) MUST be truthful in their reasons for calling for a war... to destroy a people for unknown or undisclosed reasons is an act of insanity... war has it's casualties.. many... many... many... people die... property is destroyed... countries are devistated.... but it is a necessity at times... just make sure that it is truely necessary before you commit the country... truth is something that shouldn't be shielded... if you come out with it, then you have a direction for which you can follow... ![]() |

Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with or support the war in Irak. I'm just mentioning some of the reasons politicians and lobbyists use when it comes around to voting for war or not... The craziest thing here is that if the money that the war has cost so far was spent on researching alternative fuel supplies we could just say bugger off you crazy fundamentalists. Or as Cartman would say "screw you guys I'm going hewm!" |

hahaha.... it's not an arguement.... it's a free-form discussion... an exchange of ideas... thoughts... beliefs... understanding... everyone has an opinion and all should be welcomed to express it.... at least that's what i believe... ![]() |

i agree with you.. in fact, i believe that we should burn off all the gas and oil supplies as quickly as possible thereby forcing the scientists and Big Government as well as the private sector to accelerate the next step of evolution of alternate fuel sources... as long as we are staying stagnant and relying on a lmited commodity such as oil, they have no incentive to move forward.. As long as they can control the flow of this energy source we will always be in their death grip... they will continue to milk us for all they can.. continue to have wars over this precious source... ![]() i believe if you take away the cake... the party will end quickly... ![]() and besides... i want my nuclear powered car.... ![]() |

Hey, I'm all for biodiesel. Hell, I know people who are converting their cars to run on the stuff, and if I had an old diesel beater, I'd try it myself.
Of course with the cold canuck winters, dealing with vegetable oil as fuel would be a little tough. Ever try to push butter through a straw? Aside from that, it can also be made from any type of vegetable oil including sunflower, olive, canola, soy, and yes, HEMP. "POWERED BY WEED. Me, AND my car!" (Yes, I know there is a difference between hemp and marijuana.) But imagine a soya oil powered car... whole new meaning to a tofu rocket! ![]() These fuels burn super clean, are easily/readily available now, and YOU GROW MORE WHEN YOU NEED IT. And, let's not forget about electric vehicles, solar/wind/water/geothermal electricity generation, and the fact that those vehicles have ZERO emissions. Unless you count the batteries which you need to replace every couple of years. mmm.. lead acid batteries. Aside from the huge initial cost of all these solutions, the biggest problem is the automotive/petroleum industries stranglehold on the world market. Just to let all the 'mericans in here know, you get more of your oil from Canada than you do from the middle east. Be nicer to us. ![]() |

hahaha.. hey.. i like the Canadians... ![]() i met some and they were some really nice people... ![]() i was fortunate enough to meet a guy who had a biodiesel van that he was driving around.. he told me that you don't really need to make any conversions with the standard diesel at all and that it will burn vegetable oil straight... but he was getting his free (used) from a resturant that his friend owned.. said that it worked out for both of them cuz his bud used to have to pay a company to collect and haul away the used stuff ( it's now classified as a low level hazardous waste product where he was )... so now... he collects it and burns it.. so they both win... and besides... it smelled like french fries..... yum yum yum..... ![]() it's a good idea for niow, but you know that if/when it goes mainstream everything will change... the market will drive up the prices of oil and that is what can be expected... electric is a good idea too but then the electric rates will climb cuz everyone will have to plug in and recharge.. solar is a good option but they still need to work out storage problems ( they already have but won't bring the batteries to market )... i liked the hydrogen idea myself... storage problems have been solved long ago but they keep the price artifically inflated to discourage it from coming to market... there are all sorts of ideas out there and they just need to implement them... then let the market decide... it's time to bring back the car that burns water... ![]() |
